We may collect personal data from publicly available sources such as LinkedIn and company websites.
If you register for an account on the TerraView platform, we also collect the personal data described in the TerraView Platform Services Agreement, available at https://www.terravisus.com/platform_services_agreement.
4. How do we use your personal data?

5. Who will we share your personal data with?
Generally, we will process your personal data within the Company. If it becomes necessary for us to do so to share your personal data to deliver services to you or to market to you, we may share your information with trusted partners or third-party service suppliers that support our operations. We ensure that we have contracts and data processing agreements in place with any third parties we work with. We may also be required to share your personal data if we have a legal or regulatory obligation to do so.
6. How do we safely store your personal data?
We store all personal data within the UK in line with strict organisational and technical measures designed to keep it secure. If it were necessary for us to transfer or make your personal data accessible outside the UK for the fulfilment of the purposes set out above, we shall only do so where appropriate or suitable safeguards are agreed and in place with the recipient of your personal data.
7. How long do we retain your data?
We will only retain your personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected. Thereafter, we will delete/destroy your personal data. Please contact privacy@terravisus.com for more information about our retention policy.
8. Cookies
Our website uses cookies, and you can find out more in our Cookie Policy.
9. Email Tracking
We also use email tracking technologies, such as open and click tracking, to understand how our emails are received and used, improve our communications, and measure their effectiveness. If you do not wish your email interactions to be tracked, you may opt out at any time by contacting privacy@terravisus.com.
10. Data Capture Projects (CaaS)
We also collect personal data during a data capture project. This means we use a mobile mapping camera mounted to a vehicle to capture street-level imagery and LiDAR data.
The personal data collected during a capture project is not the intended end use of the data and can include (on occasion) a subject's face and/or car registration plate if captured within the images.
We follow all relevant data location regulations and requirements, ensuring we meet UK standards and the data protection regulations in the country where we're capturing the data.
After capture, we process imagery using privacy measures designed to obscure identifiable personal information, including faces and vehicle registration plates where appropriate. These measures reduce identification risk but may not remove all personal data in every image.
Before sharing imagery with third parties, we assess and apply applicable privacy treatments. Where any sharing involves personal data, we assess the relevant legal basis, responsibilities and safeguards. The treatment and controls applicable to data supplied by independent Data Partners may differ from those for Terra Visus capture projects.
For any questions relating to personal data within a data capture project, please contact privacy@terravisus.com.
11. Street-Level Imagery and Takedown Requests
Terra Visus captures, processes and licenses street-level imagery, LiDAR and associated geospatial data. Terra Visus captures some imagery directly; independent third-party data providers (Data Partners) supply other imagery. Privacy measures, including obscuring faces and vehicle registration plates where appropriate, are designed to reduce identification risk. However, imagery may still contain information that identifies or could identify an individual.
11.1 Submitting a request. If you believe imagery captured, supplied or licensed by Terra Visus contains personal data relating to you, you may request a review and, where appropriate, further anonymisation, restriction or removal. Email privacy@terravisus.com with the image or dataset identifier (if known), location, a link to where it appears and an explanation of your concern. We may seek only such additional information as is reasonably necessary to locate the imagery, assess the request or verify your entitlement.
11.2 How requests are handled. We will assess the request in accordance with applicable data protection law and our role in the relevant processing. Where imagery was supplied by a Data Partner or has been downloaded and retained by a customer, we may coordinate with the relevant organisations to investigate and facilitate corrective action. Each organisation remains responsible for complying with the legal obligations applicable to its own processing and for responding to requests addressed to it as required by law.
11.3 Copies held by customers and other recipients. Customers normally download and retain their own copies of Licensed Data, rather than displaying imagery directly from a Data Partner-hosted service. Accordingly, we may not be able to alter or delete copies held by customers or images independently licensed through other distribution channels. Where appropriate or legally required, we will communicate relevant corrective-action requirements to recipients and take steps consistent with our responsibilities and contractual rights. A customer responsible for a publicly displayed copy may need to take corrective action within systems under its control.
11.4 Your rights. A request does not automatically entitle an individual to removal of all imagery. Each request is considered on its facts and under applicable law. Nothing in this section limits your rights to erasure, objection, restriction or complaint where those rights apply. Contact privacy@terravisus.com for assistance.
12. The legal rights you have over your data
You have several rights under data protection law regarding your personal data. These rights are as follows:
- right to request access to your personal information - you can request a copy of the personal information we hold on you;
- right to request correction of your personal information - if any personal information we hold on you is incorrect, you can request to have it corrected;
- right to request erasure of your personal information - you can ask us to delete your personal information in certain circumstances;
- right to object to processing or restrict processing of your personal information - you may object to our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances;
- right to request the transfer of your personal information - to provide you, or a third party you have chosen, with your personal information;
- right not to be subject to automated decision-making and profiling; and
- right to withdraw consent – where we process your data on the basis of consent, you can notify us that you want to withdraw consent at any time.
Under the Data Use and Access Act (DUAA), individuals (data subjects) have the legal right to complain directly to a data controller if they believe their personal data has been processed in breach of data protection legislation.
If you have a complaint relating to how Terra Visus handled your personal data, please contact us in the first instance at privacy@terravisus.com, inputting ‘COMPLAINT’ into the email subject.
Complaints will be acknowledged within 30 days, and we aim to provide a substantive response as soon as reasonably possible thereafter.
If, after receiving our response, you remain dissatisfied with how your complaint has been handled or how your personal data has been processed, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection matters.
Please contact them by post at the Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
